Charlotte’s Web Botanicals

The Story of Charlotte’s Web. Charlotte Figi, the namesake of Charlotte’s Web products, lives with a rare form of intractable epilepsy called Dravet Syndrome and spent the first five years of her life enduring hundreds of seizures weekly. Charlotte’s parents tried administering every pharmaceutical recommended by her doctors, none of which worked.

With her parents seemingly out of options, Charlotte was the first to use the proprietary hemp extract developed by the Stanley brothers of Colorado and she realized positive results immediately. The story of Charlotte’s Web gained international recognition in 2013 after airing of Dr. Sanjay Gupta’s CNN documentary, “Weed.”

CW Botanical’s proprietary hemp strains have been developed to be naturally rich in cannabidiol (CBD). This offers significant advantages over many commonly available hemp products, most of which are derived from imported hemp pastes that contain very low levels of CBD. Great care is taken in both the cultivation and processing of hemp to ensure the highest levels of purity.

The production of hemp extract at CW Botanicals involves extracting cannabinoids, terpenses, flavavonoids and other essential phytochemicals from the aerial portions of the hemp plant. Both alcohol extraction and SFE extraction are used to generate a whole plant extract.  SFE, or superciritical fluid extraction, is a method of using high pressure to force a solvent, carbon dioxide, through dried plant material. The two processes allow CW Botanicals to provide two distinct extracts with two unique pytochemical profiles.
